"A man got to do" etc.

What can get someone to cross three mountains in winter conditions, snow, wind, ice and general danger of getting stuck in the middle of nowhere. 15 hours by car in one day!

Haukelid fjell, still the sun is shining and life is great.

Wind start to increase, this cause the snow to pack in the road. Waiting for the road to be cleared for traffic.

Sauda Mountains, now this is real Rock & roll. Better not stop because then I`m stuck and here the Cellphone dont get nowhere. This road is permanently closed for the winter season from next week.

Ahrghh! This is why! Getting the car filled up with old Harley parts. Barns can be stormed even during winter.
Does it get any better?
Thanks RL!

Some years ago I started collecting parts for a pre `47 classic racer. I had a Triumph rigid frame and a tuned 5T engine.
At the time I was working in a motorcycle shop who was dealing with British bikes. One day I was talking about my plans to a customer, after a while he asked me if I would prefer to build a Grand Prix instead. .....of course I would rather have a Grand Prix....and a new car and a big house. But he was not pulling my leg; he had a lot of genuine GP parts he wanted to sell. Some days later the parts was mine.
Well it`s a long time ago, and now finally I have started to put the bike together. Just to make things a little more complicated my brother and I are assembling four rigid Triumphs at the moment. The first one we bought in 1978!Factory advert from 1946.Here is Ernie Lyons on the first Triumph GP winning the 1946 Senior Grand Prix in the Isle of Man.
The powerplant: 40bhp @ 7,200rpm, top speed: 120mph
Ca 200 exampels of the GP model where produced

This Triumph model is not a GP, just a model. Can be quite confusing, but a Triumph model can cost You more than a GP model.
I will post some photos of the progress later.

We have our tables reserved at the GASOLINE BAR in Jeselo Beach, Italy

Ok Supreme, Britannia ?

This is a wonderful period shoot from 1935. The bike is an Ok Supreme, and can be an Brittania from 1933/34. I am not sure, there are something that are different from the sales catalogue. Can be an Phantom with foot change?
The bike was sold off before the war, and we don`t know if it still exist.
The Britannia was the top of the line from Ok Supreme. The other models had hand change and deeper mudguards. The Britannia was listed with secial cylinder head, foot change Burman 4 speed close ratio gear box, Webb TT girder fork and could be delivered with BTH racing magneto.

Where are the FUNKY BUNCH today?
MARKY MARK is a hater!
There are more in collections today, than the factory ever produced.

Nico is a pragmatic guy, why have two bikes when can do anything with one?.

His passion: The WL 45Harley Davidson, is used for the track as much as for the road. For this, he asked Alain Servie Flatheads specialist to prepare a reliable engine based on the WR specifications. The engine takes 6,000 rpm and more, the internal lubrication has been improved. The electronic ignition take place in the original ignition bell, the old dual Venturi Linkert carburetor has been replaced by a much more efficient modern Dell'Orto which allows especially in the sequences of fast corners quickly gain a few miles per hour.
These few changes do not radically change the nature of the machine, but make it easier to use.

The Street Bobber version

The original chassis which can be transformed into Racer or street Bobber within hours, with lights, fenders, speedometer, saddle and especially the wheels with 18 " alloy rims, dual cams front brake (500SR) and soft tires for the track
or originals 16" wheels with Steel hubs and rims and 500X16 Avon mk2 type tires for the street bobber version.

Nico is a perfectionist in his preparation and work constantly on optimizing the gas flow and particularly with the Supertrapp exhaust also final gear ratios which are adapted according to the layout of the circuit.
Over the years, the small group of fanatics has grown, they are today about twenty in France to run on this type of motorcycles rather rare here because we have been deprived of U.S. military bases after war.

The Racer version

Nico takes care of his group trying to participate in a maximum of events ranging from
of old machines meetings , or U.S. customs show and straight runs.
