Well another Oley is in the books and it did not disappoint! I got out there Wednesday afternoon to begin the festivities. Thursday morning the rain came and it was incredible ...coming down in sheets for hours. By afternoon it cleared up and we salvaged the day.

My 46 FL was dubbed the "Demon Seed" due to the change in my demeanor when I was within 10 feet of it. I was told that it made me do bad things...I'll leave it at that...

There was the usual array of great bikes and people and the meet was the largest it's ever been! I'm telling you everything gels at Oley...The area, the location, the grounds, the people, the bikes, the proximity (walking distance) to the Fire House "Social Quarters" which gets real social on Friday nights, everything about this meet is great and makes it my favorite one of the year.

Panhead Rick and Richie Pan from Jersey showed up and Rick gave me a great painting he did of me on my Knuckle...Thanks Rick!

I got rid of some junk and picked up most of what I need to finish up my 41 FLTT. I have to thank Mike "Bolt On" for spying the 41 FL 3 speed shifter gate that I desperately needed and Pauly for pointing me in the direction of some very reasonably priced parts.

I have more to come on Oley 2011. I'll keep you posted...

One gear is enough...

Finally got my Muddyfox Single Speed Special out on the dirt this week. Built around a Muddyfox frame from the late 1990s, the accessories are all spare parts that have been in my Mam's garage for years, plus a few vital componenets sourced from e-bay and freecycle. It was great to actually get the wheels turning at last and it's so light and easy to pedal. I might need to tweak the gearing though... there's a lot of hills round here! but so far so good...

 

Red Marley Norton

Saw this incredible Norton power up the hill at Red Marley.  Tried to find it in the Paddock but alas, all was in vain.  Like an elusive, drilled big-foot all I ended the day with was a blurred, over-exposed, five second filum.

Fortunately there are better trackers out there and haze5555 found the beast.  Via CorpsesFromHell.

Bad company?

This weekend i went in to Oslo to do the "Teddy run" on my Norton 16H. Stayed at my friend Kjetil`s place and got treated with nice wine and barbercue......But the after dinner drinks where quite special.......They where to symbolize the bike brands we where going to ride in the morning: Triumph and Norton.

"Tomsing vann" (loonie water, word play on the TOMCC club name) and El Che grappa. Both wery special:

The bootle of "Tomsing vann" is the price Kjetil won at the Britannia rally 2001. Best modified bike and best cafe racer (Featherbed, Commando engine).

"El Che" a gift from me, carried on my back for miles....Kjetil have stored it for years....Che Guevara was a Norton man.

This drink took 3 years of my life expectancy!
